Exclusive to AA HL, counting principles introduce the fundamental tools of combinatorics. Students work with the product and sum principles, factorial notation, permutations and combinations, applying these to count arrangements and selections in a variety of contexts. Circular arrangements and permutations of identical objects are not required.
